State of MInd

It's been a while....

Well, I am still on vacation, in a sense, but I wanted to drop in and see how you all were getting a long without me. The past two weeks have been spiritually grueling. And to those of you who replied to my FB post, thanks.

Anyhow, I thought I'd post something encouraging for you all today. It's a poem that I have grown very fond of these two weeks. This poem made me realize that a battle is won not  won merely on brains and brawn (although those do help. ;)). A battle is won by the person who is determined to win. That person may not be incredulously smart or strong or brave or fast or organized or outgoing. It might be that the only thing going for that person is that he had the determination and faith needed to win a battle, whereas the others do not. This week I am going to try to be this person...the one who wins the battle because he thinks he can, and because he knows he can.

If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don't!
If you'd like to win, but you think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost;
For out in the world we find
Success begins with a fellow's will;
It's all in the state of mind!

If you think you're outclassed, you are;
You've got to think high to rise.
You've got to be sure of yourself
Before you'll ever win the prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But sooner or later the man who wins
Is the person who thinks he can!

"[...] but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."-Isaiah 40:31
