Dairy-Free Pretzel Bread

January 6, 2011

I am dairy intolerant. I have searched high and low for dairy-free bread recipes that taste just as good as bread with dairy. And this recipe for pretzle bread, a close second to french bread, is a God send! It is so delicious and still maintains that scrumptious bread flavor that I crave. It's moist, chewy and smells heavenly!

Here's What You Need:
  • 1C. + 3TBS of Water
  • 4 TBS of Oil ( I use Almond oil.)
  • 3C. All-Purpose Flour
  • 21/4 tsp. Yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt
Here's What You Need To Do:

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl or mixer.  Add warm water (120-130 degrees) and oil into flour mixture. Mix well. Knead for 6-8 minutes. Cover and let rise for 10 minutes. Once risen, take small balls of dough and roll into rolls/ropes. Place on greased pan/baking sheet. Bake in a preheated oven at 375 degrees for 15-17 minutes. Before they cool too much, butter the tops and sprinkle with salt. (Not only can you make super fresh and tasty rolls and pretzels, but this recipe makes amazing and easy Hamburger buns.)
