makes girl go yum-yum

No. I'm not talking about food-although that decidable dark chocolate I'm craving right now makes me go yum-yum., that's beside the point. What I want to talk about (very quickly) is that when a girl sees a guy she's, well, like finding the biggest and gooiest piece of fudge in the candy store. We find [guys] to be satisfying, easy on the eyes, and every part of our brain turns to jello as we waist our time giving them a second thought.

Here's a quote I ran across that will kind of give you an idea of what I'm trying to get at: "Six pack, nice bum, makes girl go yum-yum." That's the very thing that roams through a females mind when we spot a guy we like (doesn't matter who it is-we're all guilty). It's natural for girls to be attracted to guys. If we weren't, I'd be really worried!

But, our attraction to guys can, at any given moment, go too far. Almost to an obsession-a lustful obsession that is neither healthy or Godly. In regards to lust, 1 John 2:16-17 states:
"For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever."
These are not natural desires that come from God, girls! Lust is sinful. And even though his six pack and bum may make you turn your head for a second glance, you must be consciously aware of theses feelings that bubble up inside of you. You must guard you heart and your mind from anything that can distract you and sway you from the straight and narrow path-from God's divine plan for you.

Guys know when you're gives them ideas and feelings you never meant for them to have. One longing stare, raised eyebrow, or a slight pucker of your lip sends signals!  Control your feelings. I know the world of men, especially for a teen girl, can (if I may say) be exciting. Our girlie emotions are going hay-wire as we head into puberty, and later on in our lives we are still susceptible to the same lustful desires of our youth. James 4:7-8 says this:
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
Next time you see a guy who captures your heart and imagination-a guy that gets your wheels roving-stop and think about what it is you're doing. Are these Godly thoughts you are having, or is it lust that entertains your thoughts? Guys aren't all that bad, but we need to be on guard and be conscious of this sinful desire of lust. Focus your eyes and hearts elsewhere. Guys can wait because you have your whole life ahead on you, and no guy is worth wasting your time day-dreaming over.

  1. Great post! This is where good relationships with parents helps. Right?? I love the book called "Before you Prince charming." In this book there is a creative idea of using guys as spring boards for Bible memory! When ever you start thinking about a somebody you saw or whatever start quoting Bible verses!
