Never Forget this date...

September 11, 2009

Almost everyone was on the edge of their seats, eyes wide as they stared blankly at the T.V. screen with panic stricken faces. It was Tuesday morning September the 11th, a day we would never forget. The day the World Trade Centers fell. Right now, as I watch the flash backs of what happened that fearful day, I can only imagine the fear and uncertainty that those people faced. It still seems as if it were yesterday. For the people in the World Trade centers, the Pentagon and Flight 93, they never expected their lives to end so suddenly. Neither did we....
All of a sudden there were people screaming. I saw people jumping out of the building. Their arms were flailing. I stopped taking pictures and started crying." ~Michael Walters

At 8:45 a.m. on a clear brisk morning, American Airlines Boeing 767 loaded with 20,000 gallons of jet fuel crashes into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City, killing thousand of people and leaving thousands more hurting and morning for the loss of their loved ones. September 11 was a day of unprecedented shock and horror, a day when American-- a land of freedom--was attacked by terrorists.
"The city is going to survive, we are going to get through it, It's going to be very, very difficult time. I don't think we yet know the pain that we're going to feel when we find out who we lost, but the thing we have to focus on now is getting this city through this, and surviving and being stronger for it." ~Rudolph Giuliani
We shouldn't forget the brave men and women who heroically sacrificed their lives to save many lives in the Twin Towers, Pentagon and the President of the United States. Even though many died eight years ago today...I can't help but be proud of all the firemen, soldiers, police men and ordinary individuals who risked so much to make sure the safety of others was evident.

My heart goes out to the families who are grieving still to this day as they remember the images and thoughts still so vivid in their mind. I pray for the wives and husbands, mother and fathers, sisters and brothers, and sons and daughters that their heartache will be eased by the awesome power of God. There is so much power in prayer!
"You can be sure that the American spirit will prevail over this tragedy." ~Colin Powell
I pray Lord, that you will watch over our nation today. Comfort those who need to be comforted...let them know you are near. I pray for the families of the 9/11 soldiers, firemen, police men and ordinary individuals, that you will be there for the weary, heart broken families of the ones who were tragically lost. Let them know you are there....you won't leave them nor forsake them. Show they you are God! Amen.
